What a weekend!

A few of the prohibited favorites had a taste of how do you like me now, by being upset by their opponents.

The Spurs, Lakers and Magic were given a light flogging on their home courts and are now down one game each.

In the playoffs, don’t take any opponent lightly because most of them are hungry.

Every sport fan expected the Lakers and the Spurs to win. The Magic should of won, but they allowed the Hawks to take over from the tip off and they never looked back in spite of Dwight Howard’s 46 points and 19 rebounds. Jameer Nelson contributed 27 points, but other than that, no one else showed up to play for the Magic.

In that game the Hawks shot an overall 55 percent and made 14 of 17 shots in the second period alone. How can two people overcome all of that fire power. VanGundy, get the rest of the team ready to play. I MAKE THE CALL.

I need not say a lot about McNabb. He did what he did in Philly with what he had to work with. He came in being booed, and he left Philly being booed. He got no love in the City of Brotherly Love. Hopefully, he stays out of the politics in DC, and give Dan Snyder that elusive superbowl title he so desperately wants. I don’t think it will happen, but they will come close. See you in Dallas. So, all of you sports bandits finally got what you wanted, a no holds bar interview from Tiger Woods. When it was all said and done, what did you learn that you did not know before? Not one damn thing.

The beat goes on, and Tiger will play in the Masters on Thursday. That’s the bottom line.

Lets hope that the chapter on this is closed, and the sports world moves on to golf. After all, isn’t that what he does best, and that is what we all want to see him doing.

Clay Travis recently wrote that the marketing of Tiger Woods was one of the greatest swindle to have happened in the sports world.

Sadly, Mr Travis, you are so wrong. Tiger nor his management sold you his life, he sold the public his ability in the game of golf. Nothing more, nothing less.

It is people like you in the media world that blows it up and out of proportion. Why do I say this? It is very simple. After 4 months, you the media still can’t find another story to tell. If he blinks, you write about it, but no one in the media ever gave Tiger a break and don’t tell me that he wants to control what he will say. Why not? It is his life. Don’t you want to control what you say, do or think? If you don’t, then you are a swindler yourself.

Have you stopped to think that most of this could be for the gold? In other words, the diggers keep popping up even after he has admitted to his transgressions. What else do you want him to? Turn back the hand of time as if it never happened? No can do. He has done what he needed to do. That was to satisfy Elin. That is all that matters and your continual printing and talking about what he has done and what he should be doing is not your decision, but only Tiger’s.

If I were a betting man, and took outrageous odds, I still would not have picked Butler to go to the final four. You would have to be insane to even think about it. Guess what fans, Butler is going to the final dance come Monday. They have made a believer out of me so I am picking them for the big upset.

Why? I haven’t a clue, but I do know that Butler’s big three matches up with Duke’s big three and that alone gives them a chance for the upset. You will have Scheyer, Singler and Smith versus Hayward, Howard and Veasley.

Both front lines have a little beef, but Hayward is superior. Butler can’t shoot like they did against Michigan State, relying soley on free throws. They must be that same kind of defense, but keep the Blue Devils from making three pointers, and that will be very hard to do.

For Butler to win, they must shoot around 49% and keep Howard out of foul trouble. I MAKE THE CALL.

Just think, you are 20 years old, you are tearing spring training up with a batting average of 336, though the long ball is lacking, only one home run.

C. Jones and B. Cox are raving about you and think that you are the Atlanta Braves’ next David Justice.

Boy, what a load to carry. What makes the load heavier, you are a local product. Jason Hayward, the weight of the entire Braves Organization, not to mention your home state of Georgia is square on your shoulders.

Slinging Sammy weighs 236 lbs. The right weight for a QB of his caliber. There is no other QB in the draft with as much talent as Sam Bradford.

My favorite, Jimmy Claussen is a distant 3rd. If Sam has no hitches in his deliveries during the workouts for the Rams, he should be drafted number one overall.

He definitely has no lack of confidence based on what I saw in yesterday’s workout, and it appears that his getting rid of the ball is much faster than when he was at Oklahoma.

The Rams will be making a major mistake if they don’t take Sam with their first pick. The Rams need a quarterback more so than most teams. I MAKE THE CALL.

Let’s be for real. If you average 30 wins per season over the last 4 years, can you really be considered to be a Cinderella at the big dance?

I remember the day in September, 1979 as if it was just yesterday. The innovative, sports guru, pioneer and adventurous Chet Simmons brought 24 hour cable sports to the world.

To me, it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

A few months later he televised the first rounds of March Madness, followed by live broadcast of the NFL Draft.

This my sports friends was all due to the one and only Chet Simmons, who sadly has gone on to a bigger playing field.
